The Fallen Petal

The petal of the Rose,
It falls down from its nest.
Like an abandoned child,
Crushed like an unwanted pest.
Like an insignificant worm,
Trampled upon a busy platform.
It falls like an angel,
Pushed from the edges of heaven.
It falls to the cold harsh ground,
Soaking the autumn air,
Humid and moist,
The petal of Rose,
The blanket of velvet,
The fragrant protector of pollen,
Now occluded from its kith.
Shed like the discarded skin,
Of the slithering snake,
Forever uprooted,
And forever lost,
Another life ended,
In the dying seconds of the clock.
The petal of the Rose,
It falls down from its nest.
Like an abandoned child,
Crushed like an unwanted pest...
